A corner jump is the act of falling so that the corner of the mouse meets the corner of a block. A corner jump may refer to the act of launching off a corner, or the corner itself.

Considered an essential skill in Bootcamp, corner jumping helps mice reach farther distances.

Some maps contain side ways or upside down corner jumps, that utilize trampolines to launch mice at them.

Because the corners of blocks in transformice are essentially diagonal, mice who fall on them convert their vertical acceleration to horizontal.

This skill is also used in normal gameplay, mostly to the irritation of other users, who get bypassed by the user of it.

It's when a mouse falls on the corner of an object in such a way that the mouse launches off of the corner, allowing the mouse to travel much farther than usual. This is often considered a "pro" or "bootcamp" skill.

Explanation

The reason this exploit works is because of how the game treat the corner of your mouse's "bounding box" hitting the corner of an object. Unlike the sides of a block, the corner is neither horizontal nor vertical, it's diagonal. So when you hit the two corners together, it simulates your mouse landing on a diagonal platform, which converts our vertical velocity to horizontal velocity.

The reason the corner of your mouse must hit the corner of the block is because your mouse hits the horizontal / vertical area of an object, it will only apply that property.

Instructions

  • The higher you drop from, the further you will potentially go.
  • You must start falling in the direction you intend to move.
  • You must hit the corner of the object with the bottom corner of your mouse (the corner in the opposite direction than you intend to go).
    • While the corner of an object is easy to see, the "corner" of your character is not. However, if you draw a "box" around your character, you should be able to see understand where it is.
